Hey All,
I just got done reading Justine and Nate's blog. It was nice to catch up on all that has been happening with the two of them. It made me wonder why I wasn't blogging for the Kahler/Coldwell family. I've been blogging for two years for my students and their families so what is the hold up?
As you already know, the Kahlers' life is pretty hectic so I will be attempting to blog at least once each week. I don't intend to be the only author either which will please all of you.
We hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. It was nice traveling weather yesterday and we arrived in Muskegon before everyone else! Isn't that a new pattern? We even had to stop in Plainwell and go back to K'zoo since we had forgotten Danielle's Pistachio Salad. The meal was delicious (Thank you Joy and Gale!) and the conversation delightful. Since we won't be seeing the Kahler/Noel's for Christmas, we had our Christmas. The kids loved their gifts. We arrived home around 9:00 PM last night and all the toys were out on the living room floor and they played until 11:00 PM. Then again, 7:00 AM rolled around and they were back playing again. They truly loved their gifts. Mark and I really will enjoy our gifts also. Thank you again.
Mark was off to work this morning a little later than he had planned, but still made it to work by 4:00 AM for Black Friday. This is the first time in years that I haven't gone shopping at 5:00 AM or earlier. I just don't want to be out there this year, but I do miss the bargains. Grant has picked up on our coupon cutting and told us that he had cut out a coupon for a trailer (RV) and he was getting us one for Christmas. He wanted to know if there was enough room in the backyard to park it.
Thank you to all of you who bought cookie dough from the girls also. We only have Grandma Carol's left to deliver. Most of you know that the girls are competitive dancers and need to earn money to continue to perform. One fund raiser was selling cookie dough and that was the best they have ever done with it. Lexi was able to get involved in that portion of sales. This weekend, we have WMU Volleyball clean up on Friday night and Volleyball concessions on Saturday and then on Saturday night, we have clean up. Danielle is old enough that she can work clean up and concessions at WMU and then she gets to watch the game. She does love volleyball.
We will be going to Nationals in Chicago this year in June. That should leave us most of the summer to focus on the family. Yeah!
Next weekend, the kids have their Winter Dance Recital at Portage Northern High School at 3:00 PM. Then at 8:30 AM at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, they have their Christmas program with their Sunday School class. It was very unusual last year to be sitting in the audience watching the program with Danielle. It is also a little tearful for me that she is growing up so quickly. She is such a beautiful person inside and out. What an amazing gift it is to be able to experience these children and watch them grow into the amazing people they are meant to become.
Please remember to say a prayer for Grant and the surgery that he will be having on December 22nd at 7:30 AM. He has a cyst growing on his foot that has to be removed. I know that it is not life threatening surgery and there are other children in worse situations, but it is still a little scary that they will be putting Grant under and cutting into his perfect little body. Say a prayer for Grant and all children who are in need of healing. Thanks.
Well, there are a million things that I need to let everyone know, but I need to get busy here and that will have to wait until another time. I will try to remember to bring my camera attachments home from work so that I can download pictures for you all to see. Enjoy your Thanksgiving weekend.
